Girl scouts collect shoes for African city
From now through May, Redondo Beach Girl Scout Troop No. 4505 will be collecting 10,000 pairs of shoes — more than enough to give a pair to all 7,000 people in Maputo, Mozambique. The climate in the African city is so hot that going barefoot is hazardous.

I have been a strong supinator my whole life – I have years of shoes worn on the outside to attest to that. I’m getting into walking as a fitness regimen. I want to move up to powerwalking, but when I go faster, the outside of my ankles hurt terribly. I’m certain it’s due to the heavy supination. I’d like to buy some shoes or shoe inserts that will correct for this. I’ve tried to retrain myself into normal walking, but it doesn’t help.
I just need two shoes (one red and one blue) that are under 50 bucks cause my old basketball shoes are getting worn out (adidas Men’s Bounce Artillery II Basketball Shoe.) They have to be stylish and be a quality shoe for basketball standards. Thank you…..FYI…..I love Finishline shoes/ Nike. Eastbay not so much, but some. Please, I really need some new shoes.
